Have you ever been let down by someone you expected to do something, and they didn’t? Like sometimes they talk a good thing but never follow through with it??
Well as I was questioning this, I began to wonder how often we do this to God.. how often do we say ‘I love you, God’? And God says ‘if you love me, follow my commandments’… that’s how we show and prove that we truly do love God! By the actions! Words are all nice and good, but they mean almost nothing if we can’t follow through with what we’ve said!!
The other thing, when that does happen, it makes me super sad and quite disappointed with the person.. I know I know.. God says not to put your trust in any man.. but I’ve always been an optimist!! I expect people to do what they’ve said they will do.. because your word means something, right??
Well, thinking of how often we do this to God, I can only imagine how sad He must get, looking down at His people, hoping more than anything that today His children will get it right! Lord, I pray that you help me learn more and more how to make you smile! How to make you feel happy because of me! So that you can think of me in the way you thought of Job and other fathers of our faith!
Lord! Help me be more of a listener than a talker; more of a doer than anything! Help me be strong and unshakable in You! You are my God! And I want to make you proud! So, Thy will be done in my life! Amen 🙏
